Bali drivers hold yet another protest against Uber and Grab

In case you forgot how badly drivers not working for ride-hailing apps in Bali wanted online-based companies like Uber and Grab off the island, a drivers association has held yet another demo as a reminder.

Drivers organized by the Bali Drivers Alliance (Alstar) set up peacefully in front of the Bali governor’s office in Denpasar on Tuesday.

“They know that Grab and Uber are owned by foreigners,” Alstar chairman Ketut Wirta said on Tuesday, as quoted by Okezone

“Why should we make foreigners richer?”, the chairman explained.

If the governor doesn’t listen their demands, the drivers will come back in greater masses and demonstrate further, Wirta said.
