Bali DPRD Chairman desperate to know who tested positive on the urine test for meth, dammit

The chairman of the Bali DPRD (regional council) is eager to know which council member tested positive for drugs during a recent urine test.

A test conducted by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) indicated that a DPRD member was using meth, but BNN has not released the member’s identity.

“BNN already sent a letter to us, saying that a member came up positive for drug use. It also mentioned three other members (who had positive test results), but they were taking medication for pain and other prescribed meds,” Chairman Nyoman Adi Wiryatama explained to Antara Bali after a DPRD plenary session on Wednesday.

Wiryatama says he doesn’t have the right to compel BNN to share the identity of the legislator concerned here and perhaps BNN needs to investigate first, but not releasing the person’s name is downright “unethical”.

Or how about at least release their initials, suggested DPRD member Nyoman Adnyana. He added that the public is impatiently waiting for who tested positive. Immediate action for rehabilitation is needed, he explained.

Apparently DPRD Bali doesn’t have anything more important to focus on than witch hunting for their institution’s mystery ‘meth head’.
