The Red Cross Blood Center at Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital is urgently calling for Bali blood donors.
The center is reportedly facing a shortage of type O blood as the New Year soon approaches, according to Bali Discovery. And with the Balinese holidays Galungan and Kuningan falling around Christmas and New Year’s there seems to be a heightened fear of more holiday-frenzied-related injuries that may rely on blood donations.
Last Friday, a Blood Center spokesperson reportedly said that only one bag of type O blood remained at the hospital because of a combined high demand and lack of donors during the holiday season.
But it’s not just those universal donors that the hospital is after. The Blood Center also reportedly says it is running low on A, B, and AB blood types.
