Bali deputy governor reported to Corruption Eradication Commission

Here we go again, another day in Indonesia, another high ranking official reported to the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission).

This time it’s Bali Deputy Governor Ketut Sudikerta who could be in trouble.

Sudikerta was reported by Rizal Akbar Maya Poetra SH over the alleged forgery of land titles in the name of Pelaba Pura Jurit Uluwatu.

“I’m reporting this in the capacity as an individual and citizen aware of the accusations of graft and money laundering, allegedly committed by Ketut Sudikerta,” Rizal said to media on Thursday in Denpasar, as quoted by Tribun Bali

The report was filed to the KPK on March 8.

Defensively firing back, Sudikerta has apparently claimed that the report is politicized, but Rizal insists there’s nothing political about it.

Rizal says his client, Made Subrata, made a cash payment for land and was given an allegedly fake certificate and claims that 55 percent (at least Rp 273 billion) was pocketed by Sudikerta.

This is certainly a story we’ll be watching. We’re especially curious to see of Governor Made Mangku Pastika will react. Will he distance himself from his #2 or will he deny, deny, deny these allegations on behalf of Sudikerta? We’ll just have to wait and see.
