Bali chicken prices reportedly plummet

After the rise in rice prices some time ago, the price of chicken meat in the local pasars has reportedly dropped down.

According to Tribun Bali, the price of chicken meat has plummeted down as much as 40 percent.

A chicken vendor in Pasar Banyuasri, Singaraja, North Bali, Ayu told the newspaper that the price of chicken per kilo was Rp 40,000 but it is now just Rp 25,000 a kilo.

Ayu told Tribun that the prices dropped last week people were starting to hold off on buying chicken and that the public is more selective in shopping for basic commodities after the increase in rice prices.

But still think about buying chicken, the vendor said, hoping that sales will pick up again.
