A cafe singer arrested in Sanur could get a maximum of 12 years behind bars for 0.22 grams of meth.
Karmila Sari, 35, heard her indictment in a Denpasar District court session on Thursday, wherein she could also get a Rp 8 billion fine, reports Antara Bali.
Sari was reportedly arrested by police in her kos on Jl. Padang Galak, Sanur on May 4, 2015 at 11 pm, based on a tip off from the public that a woman had meth.
Upon investigating her kos, officers reportedly found the meth concealed in Sari’s bra, along with a bong stored in her room.
Sari reportedly confessed to officers that she bought the drugs from someone named Dimas for Rp 400,000. The drugs were sent to the lab and proved to be meth, while Sari’s urine analysis showed negative results for drugs.
Moving forward, Sari will stand trial, where we’ll find out if judges enforce the max penalty of 12 years or not.
