Bali-bound passenger investigated after getting caught smoking in airplane bathroom

Airport authorities are reportedly investigating a passenger of Hong Kong nationality who was caught smoking in the bathroom on a Citilink flight from Surabaya to Denpasar.

“We are still investigating the passenger. We have already taken his passport,” Airport Authority Head for the Bali-Nusa Tenggara region Yusfandri Gona said in Kuta on Monday, as quoted by Antara

Gona added that airport authorities are coordinating with representatives from Hong Kong about the smoking incident involving the 39-year-old man, Liem Nang Sang.

Sang allegedly was able to pass the cigarettes and matches through airport security in Surabaya, undetected, carrying them in the side pocket of a backpack.
