A flight to Bali from Doha had to be diverted this past weekend when an Iranian passenger went into a drunken rage after unlocking her sleeping husband’s phone, only to uncover he had been having an affair.
The woman was apparently able to open her snoozing husband’s phone via a touch passcode, by holding his finger on the device’s security finger-scanning sensor.
Qatar Airways QR-962, Doha-Bali, was diverted to Chennai on Sunday following the commotion, which was confirmed by an official from India’s Central Industrial Security Force.
“On November 5, at about 10 am, Qatar Airways flight QR-962 (Doha-Bali) was diverted to Chennai.
“A lady along with her husband and a child, all Iranian nationals, were offloaded by Qatar Airline as the lady passenger (who was intoxicated) misbehaved with crew members inflight,” the Times of India quoted the unidentified source as saying.
After the woman sobered up enough and the family was deemed to not be a security threat, the family was put on another plane.

“They were sent to Kuala Lumpur by Batik Air flight 6019 for further travel to Doha,” the source said.
Qatar Airways kept in classy, writing in a statement: “In respect of passenger privacy we do not comment on individual cases.”
