Bali bomb squad checks out ‘suspicious’ suitcase left near toll road

A “suspicious” suitcase apparently left abandoned in Denpasar prompted Bali Police to send in a mobile brigade bomb squad to check out the lone luggage.

The suitcase came up clean and has since been handed over from the bomb squad to Bali Police.

“it is still under investigation. It is not known who the owner is,” South Denpasar Police Chief Aris Purwanto told Kompas

A janitor reportedly came across the suitcase under a tree near the entrance of Pertamina Sanggaran at 6:15 am on Thursday.

Not only did the sketchy suitcase cause somewhat of a bomb scare, the discovery apparently also triggered a major traffic jam on the road from Benoa harbor towards Pesanggaran, Denpasar.
