If you’re a saucily dressed Indonesian gal hanging on the streets at night, you better carry your identity card with you. Just saying.
Bali’s on the lookout for incoming prostitutes with the recent closure of one of Southeast Asia’s biggest red-light districts, Dolly in Surabaya (not to be confused with Dollywood).
Three ladies, two of which were teens, were taken into the municipal police on Jl. Ngurah Rai, Amlapura, Sunday night because they were caught during an inspection without any ID cards (KTP), making police think they could be stowaway ladies of the night. Two of the women are apparently from Bali (Karangasem and Denpasar) and one is from Lombok, reported Tribun Bali.
It’s not like Bali’s just straight up anti-prostitute. Dolly’s shutdown has Bali police especially worried about the spread of HIV and AIDs, Iwan Suparta, head of municipal police, said to Tribun Bali.
