Though we’re loving the slight temp cool down that rainy season brought us, the hujan is bringing in some nasty stuff too like the massive trash tidal wave along with high risks of landslides and flooding.
People who live in hilly areas are encouraged to remain cautious and on alert for the possibility of landslide hazards that can occur at any time, says Nyoman Suarsa of Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics organization (BMKG), as quoted by Berita Satu.
According to BMKG monitoring in Denpasar, rainy season has already hit about 75 percent of Bali, with vary intensities from medium to high.
Residents who live in landslide prone areas, namely Pupuan (Tabanan), Kintamani (Bangli), Singaraja, North Badung, and Karangasem should especially be on an increased level of awareness.
Flooding on the other hand can pretty much happen anywhere and everywhere, especially in Denpasar where drainage is a big issue.
