Bali 9 Myuran Sukumaran’s paintings to be showcased in Amsterdam

The Kerobokan Prison art auction reportedly got shut down last Friday because of a reference to Myuran Sukumaran. But even though Sukumaran’s paintings did not get the anticipated audience last week, they will get featured all the way in Amsterdam.

In a one-night only event, 20 of Sukumaran’s portraits of family and friends and other paintings will be exhibited, reports New Zealand’s One News.

Sukumaran is known for his rehabilitation efforts through the Kerobokan prison’s art program, and his passion for painting and teaching has shown through whilst he sits on death row.

According to One News, having his clemency bid rejected only made his fervor for painting stronger and he had his friend Tania Albers organize a show in the Netherlands.

Albers like many is confused why Sukumaran will be executed despite his personal development and rehabilitation.

“He could do so much good if he was given the chance, and who could possibly benefit from his execution?”
