The family of Bali Nine death row prisoner Myuran Sukumaran are in shock and denial that they will lose their family member, since his attempt to have his clemency further reviewed was rejected Wednesday afternoon.
His mother Raji Sukumaran and two sisters, Brintha and Chintu are spotted by media today, publicly begging for Myuran and fellow Bali Nine death row prisoner Andrew Chan not to be executed.
“Do not kill my brother, he is a good person. We love him so much,” said Brintha, as quoted by Tribun Bali, through tears near Kerobokan Prison’s exit earlier today.
“They have been rehabilitated, they have been doing a lot of things, they are good children, please don’t kill him,” pleaded Raji, as quoted by the Guardian.
Even though the application for their case to reviewed was rejected by the Denpasar District Court (called PK in Indonesia), Sukumaran along with Chan have still not given up hope that their lives will be spared. Yesterday they submitted a handwritten note to the Indonesian government begging for a moratorium on the country’s death penalty.
