When we’re playing around at the beach, it’s so easy to fall into a state of relaxation and not always be super vigilant about risky wave conditions. But, it’s not a cliche that taking two minutes to “look before you leap” really could save your life.
That’s the message that a Malaysian website OurYouth.my is trying to convey in a post that has gone viral on Facebook.
A series of pictures with big (mostly red) arrows shows what a dangerous rip current looks like. Take a glance at the water before going in to make sure it doesn’t match these pictures, but if you find yourself caught in one, check the diagram OurYouth posted on how best to swim out of one. Because we can all say oh we’ll never get caught in one of these, but you never really know, especially when we’re surrounded by such gorgeous beaches and thus go swimming every day!
