Awas, bump in middle of Denpasar bridge keeps sending motorbike riders flying

Careful when driving in Denpasar if you have to take Jl. Raya Gatot Subroto Timur, because that first bridge when coming from the Tohpati area is apparently a major hazard, that motorbike drivers in particular should be cautious of.

A man who lives just east of the bridge, identified in a Tribun Bali report as M Yusuf, told the newspaper that he has had to help people who crash on the road because of a big bump in the middle of the bridge that has sent some motorbike riders flying.

“Last night there was another fall. Really severe. Bouncing, he almost fell into the river. His mouth was bleeding,” Yusuf told Tribun.

Yusuf says it’s quite common that the bump causes accidents.

Tribun Bali reported that the bump, a mound of asphalt, appears to be about one meter by one meter and motorists should also beware of the second bridge going the same direction on Jl. Raya Gatot Subroto Timur, because the bridge contains a hole that’s roughly the same one meter by one meter size.

We sure hope this get’s fixed soon, especially before people are sent crashing into the water from crashing on these bridges. Scary.

Here’s an actual picture of the jalan rusak, as posted by Tribun:
