Sanglah Hospital forensics performed an autopsy Wednesday on a man mysteriously found dead in sewage, in Bali’s Port of Benoa.
The dead man has been identified in a Tribun Bali report as Andreas Protololo, 25, who is from West Sumba, NTT.
“The results of the autopsy show the man was dead 12 to 24 hours before the body was received (by forensics) yesterday. And on some parts of the body, there were bruises,” said Head of Forensics at Sanglah in Denpasar, Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Alit.
From the results of the external examination and autopsy carried out at 9 am at the request of police, wounds were found on the body’s face, and there was also an apparent blunt force injury to the back, Alit told Tribun Bali.
But that was likely not what killed Protololo: “Violence to the head is the primary cause of fatality,” Alit said.
