Australian man found dead in Seminyak Hotel

An Australian man was reportedly found dead in his Seminyak, Bali hotel room.

The 41-year-old Melbourne Man was staying at the Fave Hotel, when hotel staff found his body face down late last night, when the man missed his check out slot yesterday, reports news.com.AU. The body reportedly had dry blood in the mouth.

There does not appear to be any foul play, but an autopsy has not been conducted yet to confirm cause of death. Forensics officers said there were no indications of violence.

“From an external examination we allege that he died around 12 to 24 hours before the examination,” said head of Sanglah Hospital Forensics, Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Alit. “But to know the cause of death we need to conduct an autopsy.”

Police reportedly found medicine, vitamins, and an empty bottle of vodka, which lead them to theorize that the man could have been sick. “We didn’t find any sign of violence on the victim’s body, including in the hotel room. There is no sign of a fight in the room, as all the stuff was still neatly arranged in the room,” said Dewa Tagel, Kuta police investigator, as quoted by news.com.AU. The air conditioner and light were still on in the hotel room when Fave Hotel staff used the master key to get in.
