A 24-year-old Australian man reportedly died in Bali on Thursday morning, after succumbing to a severe loss of blood caused by an accident in his Kuta hotel room.
Perth man Daniel Evans, 24, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday morning after crashing through the glass door of his hotel room, reports ABC Australia.
“He was drunk, he was trying to go to his room, he lost his balance and fell through the glass window,” said Kuta police chief Dedy Januarta, as quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald. (ABC and News Corp are reporting it was a glass door, while the SMH referred to it as a glass window that Evans crashed into.)
Denpasar police chief, Anak Agung Made Sudana, also says Evans was allegedly drunk and the glass appeared to have struck a major blood vessel.
Hotel staff apparently took Evans to the hospital when an ambulance took too long to arrive.
Evans’ body is reportedly in the morgue of Sanglah Hospital, where an autopsy will be done to pin point his exact cause of death.
