An Australian tourist holidaying in Bali has undergone major surgery after a motorcycle crash last night left him with brain hemorrhaging and internal injuries, 9 News reports.

Thirty-two-year-old Erran Braddick from Gladstone, Queensland, remains in a coma at Kuta’s BIMC Hospital, his sister Daniele revealed on an online fundraiser posted on the ‘Go Fund Me’ platform last night.

“Our goal is to get him back onto Australian soil as costs of him to remain at a hospital in Kuta are astronomical,” she wrote on the fundraiser’s page.

Amazingly, in less than 24 hours concerned netizens have come together to raise AUD$22,180 of the AUD$50,000 target.

Sadly, scooter crashes are an all-too-common occurrence here in Bali. Just last month, 27-year old Frankie Avalon Fonohema from Melbourne, Australia, died in a motorcycle crash in Canggu. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and didn’t have a license.
