Another arak raid shows that police in Bali are not letting locals slide for making and distributing the traditional alcoholic beverage without the proper permits.
Around 690 liters of arak were confiscated in Karangasem on Monday because there was no ‘traditional alcoholic beverage’ permit.
The arak had been set for distribution in Denpasar, Karangasem Narcotics Police Adj Chief I Wayan Merta told local media.
“We seized it (the arak) and are developing an investigation,” Merta said on Monday, as quoted by Kriminalitas.
He added that his team will continue to conduct raids.
