Bali sure can be trashy, and we’re not just talking about the drunken tourists flubbering around in their Bintang tanks.
It doesn’t help that plastic is abound here, from bottles to bags that are quickly tossed out.
To try and tackle Bali’s rampant trash issue, one project is using plastic bottles and plastic bags, and other plastic trash to form ecobricks that can be used in construction.
A flyer circulating on social media encourages Bali residents to make their own ecobricks by stuffing plastic very tightly into Aqua bottles, saying the bricks will go into construction for the Bali Life Street Kids Center. Tutorial to make your own here.

According to their website, the Street Kids Center is located in Denpasar and serves street children and their families with two main programs: the Street Kids Informal School and the Bali Life Women’s Workshops for the mothers.
Ecobricks can be dropped off at Bambooku stores located in Seminyak and Ubud or in exchange for a piece of Take Sumi.
