Airport manager to incentivize new routes to bring in more tourists

Indonesia is working on getting its already high number of tourist arrivals even higher.

The country’s airport manager, Pt. Angkasa Pura I is incentivizing airlines to add new routes by offering a big discount.

“Indonesia is known as a friendly country with natural attractions. Our duty is to make a great first impression with tourists and travelers when they arrive here,” Angkasa Pura I director of Commercial and Business Development, M. Asrori, told Tribun Bali on Sunday.

However, Asrori that it’s not just about the quality of attractions, but also about flight availability so that’s why Angkasa Pura I is offering discounts of up to 50 percent for airlines daring to open new routes.

“Because in the end, tourism development depends on three factors: airline, airport, and destination.”
