It turns out that the airlines flying into Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport aren’t to blame for a number of travelers’ missing bags.
A man accused of stealing baggage from the carousel at Bali Airport on more than one occasion has been arrested by authorities after getting caught in the act on CCTV.
Ngurah Rai Airport Police Commissioner Made Krisna Mahardika confirmed the arrest to local media and said 36-year-old Solehudin was taken into police custody on Tuesday evening at 8 pm.
Solehudin was brought to authorities’ attention when a Citilink Airlines passenger reported a missing bag.
“Actually, airport security authorities had suspected the alleged perpetrator. His name was on the wanted list, as there had previous been incidents of passengers losing their bags from the conveyor. After checking the CCTV, the recording showed that the perp was taking the belongings of other passengers,” Mahardika told Tribun Bali on Wednesday.
Glad they caught him, but still best you watch the baggage claim like a hawk when traveling through Bali in case someone wants to pick up where Solehudin left off.
