As illegal as marijuana is in Indonesia, some people just refuse to “keep off the grass.”
Denpasar Police made a big bust recently, reportedly catching seven drug users, where were all traced from the same dealer, one of whom is an American citizen.
The seven drug suspects were identified by their initials in a Sindo News report as WIK, 31, FIN, 20, AR, 27, MUD, 23, MAUL, 39, DON, 28, and NUAH (no age was given for the last suspect). The seven were reportedly arrested between Feb. 15 and 21.
WIK is apparently the American. Police found him using cannabis at a hotel in Denpasar on Feb. 15 in possession of 2.77 grams of marijuana, said I Gede Ganefo of Denpasar Police’s Narcotics Unit.
According to Ganefo, the American had been living in Mengwi, Badung, Bali for the past 10 years. Ganefo declined to mention the suspect’s profession though.
