Gilimanuk Police reportedly managed to confiscate 60 kilograms of swiftlet nests on Sunday that lacked proper documentation at Gilimanuk port in Jembrana, West Bali.
The nests are apparently a key ingredient in bird’s nest soup, which is considered a delicacy in the region by many.
The nests were being transported in a Daihatsu Xenia car and had been packaged using cigarette boxes, reports Tribun Bali.
Police confirmed the story to Tribun on Monday after the 60 kilograms had been secured.
