2 meter python reportedly found on Kuta Beach

Tourists around Kuta Beach today had cause for excitement when they saw something different on the beach, instead of just the usual Aussies in Bintang singlets and trash piled up on the sand.

A 2 meter-long python was reportedly found earlier today on Bali’s most famous beach.

Usually the snakes around here are still smaller than this one, said member of Kuta Beach Satgas (security) Wayan Sirna, as quoted by Kompas

The giant snake wasn’t so easy to catch. According to Kompas, army officers stationed around the beach finally caught the snake, but only after it was on the move and slithered in and out of the water, causing quite the stir.

Sirna said the snake would be sent to BKSDA (Bali Conservation of Natural Resources).

As soon as the snake was evacuated, things went back to normal on the beach, say reports.
