Four Russian nationals were injured after their car plunged 25 meters over a cliff yesterday in Buleleng, with the police suspecting brake failure as the likely cause of the accident.
Buleleng Police spokesman I Gede Sumarjaya said yesterday evening that the car that was driven by 26-year-old Denis Pereverzin crashed at around 1:30pm yesterday on Desa Road in Tigawasa Village.
Pereverzin reportedly suffered scrapes on his arms and legs. Per this article’s publication, he is being treated at Paramasidhi Singaraja Hospital.
One passenger, 54-year-old Denis Kruchenov, suffered cuts on his forehead as well as bruises on his chest. Another passenger who has been identified by her first name only, Irina, 52, reportedly suffered a broken leg.
A third passenger, Evgeniya, 31, suffered wounds on her left leg.
All victims were conscious by the time of this article’s publication.
“The accident happened, allegedly, because the driver was not careful and could not control the car. It is suspected that the brake did not function properly [and the driver] did not master the condition of the road,” Sumarjaya said, adding that Pereverzin holds an international driver’s license.
