Four people in Padang Bai, East Bali were bit by a dog on Thursday that is believed to have been infected with rabies.
Concerned with the dog’s aggressive behavior, angry residents banded together to kill the dog and throw its body out to the sea, reports Tribun Bali.
The four people bitten by the dog were identified by Tribun’s reports as Dewa Ayu Ernawati, AA Gede Raka, Wayan Suti, and Wayan Adi Winarta. All four were immediately rushed to a clinic and administered the anti-rabies vaccine (VAR).
With stray dogs left and right on the island, the rabies issue in Bali has been frustrating to say the least. Bali suffered a shortage of the vaccine earlier this year, which many connected the dots to conclude that’s why the government upped street dog culling.
