Court decisions have finally been handed down following a deadly brawl between rival mass organizations in and around Bali’s notorious Kerobokan Prison back in 2015.
Four men were sentenced to 10 months behind bars in Denpasar District Court on Monday for their role in the December 17, 2015 prison clash between local groups Baladika and Laskar, in which an inmate they attacked had been declared dead in Kerobokan Blok C, according to Tribun Bali.
Judges ended up showing some leniency in their sentencing towards Kadek Lingga Januarta alias Lingga, 21, I Putu Heri Saptrawan, 33, I Wayan Sumerta Antara alias Beji, 27, and I Made Atmaja Eka Putra alias Girut, 19.
Prosecutors had demanded that the four get a year in prison, but mitigating factors were apparently that the defendants were “polite” in court, admitted what they had done, and showed remorse for their actions.
