Indonesia deported three Russian nationals this week, after they were determined to have violated the country’s immigration law while staying in Bali.
The Bali office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights identified the foreigners as MM, PI, and AG, all of whom were briefly detained prior to their deportation on Monday. I Putu Surya Dharma, a spokesman from the office, confirmed that they were deported from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport.
According to reports, AG had been detained since Aug. 13 after authorities found him initiating and sharing an invitation to a paid dance event through social media, while PI was detained for overstaying his visa following an alleged robbery incident that left him without money to return to his home country.
Meanwhile, local media outlets identified MM as the Russian national who was detained after he was found loitering around Ngurah Rai airport in July.
