2014 was a year of less crime in Bali

We’re not all bad news bears here.

The island’s crime rate significantly went down in 2014, reports the Jakarta Post.

Woohoo! Though it seemed like Bali had its fair share of crime reports in 2014, the overall amount of reports filed in 2014 went down by 16.65 percent as 7,018 cases were reported in 2014, down from the 8,420 cases reported in 2013, according to the Jakarta Post.

Bali Police also reportedly said that the amount of foreigners as victims has also sunk. In 2014, 106 crime victims were foreign nationals, while that number was 170 in 2013, Bali Police say.

“The number of criminal cases has significantly decreased. Thanks to the cooperation of all stakeholders, including the police and community,” Bali Police chief Insp. Gen. Albertus Julius Benny Mokalu said, as quoted by the Jakarta Post.
