Two people flying from Bali to Perth have reportedly come down with the measles.
Their infection has resulted in the issuance of a warning by the West Australian Health Department, reports the AAP.
The two people are family members who road on AirAsia flight QZ548 from Ngurah Rai Airport midday Saturday, according to the AAP.
Passengers riding that flight could have been exposed to the measles and are at risk, says the WA Health Department, along with people at these following places on Saturday: Perth Airport’s international terminal, a Dan Murphy’s bottleshop in Bull Creek, Pharmacy 777 in Willetton, WA, and an IGA supermarket in Willeton, the AAP reports.
And these places on Sunday from about 9 am to 9.30 am at Olympic Medical Centre in South Street, Canning Vale; and about 10 am in and around Princess Margaret Hospital’s emergency department in Subiaco, according to the West Australian.
“Measles is contagious for up to five days before the development of the rash and for four days after the rash starts,” says Communicable Disease Control medical co-ordinator Paul Effler, as quoted by the AAP.
However, you should be in the clear if you had two doses of a measles vaccine or were born before 1966.
