The lifeless body of Fitran Robby Firdaus, 39, was found in a lavish rented house on Saturday in Denpasar.
Two Indian nationals suspected of committing the murder, AS, 21, and GS, 24, were arrested yesterday at around 7pm at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport before they could fly out of the country.
The Ngurah Rai Airport Police Crimes Unit Chief Rionson Ritonga confirmed that the two were heading to Singapore when they were arrested.
Firdaus and his killers reportedly had an alcohol-induced party the night before at his house on Tukad Bilok Street with another Indian man, RS. Reports say that the four met in Kuta earlier that week and became friends. Firdaus invited AS and GS to his place because they reportedly did not have a place to stay in Bali.
While the four were under the influence of alcohol, AS and GS reportedly assaulted the two victims mercilessly with wooden blocks. The killers later locked them in a room and left with their money and mobile phones.
Firdaus drew his last breath after suffering a heavy blow to his head, while RS, despite suffering blows to his forehead and neck, survived.
The two of them were found on Saturday morning by Firdaus’ neighbor, another Indian national named Sunny Kumar.
The Denpasar Police is still investigating the case.
