Two earthquakes struck off of South Kuta this morning with reports saying that the seismic activity was felt in neighboring West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that a 5-magnitude earthquake struck at 07:36am 100 kilometers southwest of South Kuta.
The quake’s epicenter was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers in the ocean.

A follow-up 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit at 08:37am 93 kilometers southwest of South Kuta, also at a depth of 10 kilometers. This quake was reportedly felt in West Sumbawa, which is located some 300 kilometers east of Bali.
BMKG said neither quake had the potential to cause a tsunami. There have been no immediate reports about major damages in Bali and neighboring islands.
