10 year old home after abducted from Denpasar, allegedly sexually assaulted

A 10-year-old girl is now at home safe in Denpasar with her family after she was briefly abducted earlier this week and allegedly sexually assaulted.

The girl, LAC, 10, who is in grade five, is understood to have been picked up and lured into a stranger’s car when she was playing in front of her home in Sesetan, by a man driving a white Toyota Avanza.

“Once inside, the perpetrator locked the car and made off with the victim. Next, the victim was taken to a deserted place. According to the victim, she was molested by the offender twice in the car,” local newspaper Tribun Bali quoted an unidentified police source as saying on Wednesday.

After the assault, the girl was dropped off on the side of the road in Singapadu, Gianyar, where she wandered into a local resident’s home, asking for help.

The girl was taken for about five hours, according to reports.

South Denpasar Police Deputy Chief Gede Sumena confirmed that the girl claims to have been molested while abducted.

“The victim has been directed by PPA (Police’s Women and Children’s Protection Unit) to undergo a physical examination at Sanglah Hospital,” Sumena said.

Police are still searching for the perp and investigating the troubling incident.
