There’s a whole lot of ‘namaste’ being said in Ubud, that’s for sure, but starting at the end of this month, there’s about to be even more of that as yogis from around the world will pack their mats for Bali’s big international yoga festival at one of the most renowned yoga destinations on the planet.
The BaliSpirit Festival will kick off on March 31 and run until April 5 with a lineup that goes beyond just yoga (though there’s loads of yoga penciled in to the schedule, literally days of it).
Along with the yoga, there will be plenty of dance and world music from gamelan to belly dance, split between two venues: the Puranti Centre for the Arts and Arma Museum.
Other than giving you that “yoga high,” you can feel good about yourself for participating since the festival is not a pure for-profit scheme and actually gives back to community initiatives.
In the past seven years that the festival has been running, more than USD65,000 has been raised for the Festival’s annual Karma (Giving Back) outreach initiatives. According to the festival’s organizers, funds have gone to children’s programs, multicultural education & performances, health clinics, HIV & AIDS awareness, & environmental protection (no doubt a biggie in Bali).
Festival passes can be bought in a variety of different packages here.
As a media partner for the festival, we sure are looking forward to unrolling our mats and stretching out in our favorite little Bali jungle town.
