Supermodel icon Iman Abdulmajid took a poignant trip down memory lane as she fondly recalls the early days of her marriage to the late musical legend David Bowie. Returning to the enchanting island of Bali, where they embarked on their blissful honeymoon three decades ago, Iman shared a heartwarming glimpse into their love story.

The 67-year-old Somali-born beauty took to Instagram to share a captivating throwback photo. The image captures an intimate embrace between Iman and Bowie, set against the backdrop of a serene swimming pool.

Alongside this nostalgic snapshot, Iman treats her followers to a recent picture of herself, striking a pose in the very same location.

In the caption of her post on Tuesday, Iman wrote, “June 1992 Honeymoon, Bali… January 2023 Bali #BowieForever.”

With this simple yet profound message, Iman celebrated the enduring bond they shared, even after 31 years since their sacred union.

Bali held a special place in Bowie’s heart, as the island captivated the British musical maestro with its mesmerizing beauty. He was even inspired to pen a song dedicated to the island alongside the band Tin Machine.

Released in 1991, the enchanting melody of “Amlapura” tells the tale of one of Bali’s sacred temples, showcasing Bowie’s profound connection to the island’s rich culture.

As one of his final wishes, Bowie expressed his desire for his ashes to be scattered in Bali. After a battle with liver cancer, Bowie took his last breath on Jan. 10, 2016, leaving behind a profound sense of loss for Iman.

To Iman, Bowie was not just a husband but an unwavering source of love and protection. In a heartfelt interview with People in 2021, she described him as a kind-hearted soul who stood by her side from the moment they first met until the end of his life.

Their enduring love story bore fruit in the form of their beloved daughter, Lexi Jones, now 22 years old.
