If you’re a tango aficionado then this event is just for you.
Bali is set to host the first Indonesia Champion Preliminaries (ICP) tango competition scheduled to take place from Aug. 4 to 7 next week.
In addition to being an event featuring world-class tango dancers competing on the floor, ICP also serves as a platform for tango enthusiasts from all over the country and beyond to express their love of the art and improve their knowledge.
ICP chief coordinator Ratih Soe Kosasie told reporters over the weekend that the event will also feature workshops and private classes for those who want to take their tango skills to the next level.
Dancers from Australia, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam are slated to compete in the event, which include several categories, including one for participants aged 50 and above.
Tango experts, such as the duos Gabriel Ponce and Analia Morales and Elina Roldan and Jorge Torres, as well as tango observer Martin Frosio who is a representative of Relaciones Institucionales Festival de Buenos Aires, are listed among the judges.
