Photographer explains what’s behind his incredible Bali underwater photoshoot

While the notion of shooting photos underwater is not a novel concept, a Montreal-based photographer brought the art to a whole different level at a Bali shipwreck.

Though his captivating shots of models set under the sea at the USS Liverty shipwreck on the Tulamben seabed aren’t exactly new (his video discussing the shoot is dated May 2014), Benjamin Von Wong’s Bali work has been getting some recent attention and shares on social media and we though they’re certainly worth sharing to you.

Von Wong himself, detailing his photo shoot.

The images he winds up with, using models who are actual free divers, are absolutely stunning.

As he details in the video above, getting these shots was no easy task and he often had no idea about the quality of them/whether they were even in focus until he was already back up above the water, pulling the files up on his computer.

Von Wong’s dedication to his work though is clearly apparent, as he talks about the importance of finding your passion and working with people who share that zeal.
