Beludru Project: Sustainability Spirit of Art in Bali

Opening this Friday, the Beludru Project is an exhibit from Mangurupa art group, exploring beludru, or velvet, as a medium to create different works of art. Many traditional ceremonies on the island make use of velvet, organizers say, and it is thought to symbolize luxury and quietude. The exhibit, which will take place at Bentara Budaya Bali, hopes to instigate an awareness of contemporary art in Bali by offering new insights and perspectives.

Friday, Nov 29 to Dec 11 at Bentara Budaya Bali. Opening day event starts at 6.30pm. Free entry. For more information, read on here.
