We’re well into December, which means it’s time to start thinking about our upcoming holiday plans. This year, the stylish Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is hosting celebrations at their two big restaurants: Makase, your friendly neighborhood Balinese café with a huge open-plan kitchen, and the chic Japanese-themed beachfront SugarSand. Here’s a small sneak peek at what’s going to be cooking at each of these two venues:

Christmas Eve

Tell the whole family to bring their empty stomachs to Makase’s family-style dinner, which is set to be a truly international feast. In addition to an array of flavor-packed Southeast Asian dishes, the table(s) will also be filled with Western Christmas classics like rolled roasted turkey and a house-made honey-glazed ham. Enjoy all of this while a live acoustic band sets the soundtrack for a festive evening.

IDR950,000/IDR750,000 (depending on which free-flow drinks package you choose), and IDR375,000 for children under the age of 11.

Christmas Day

It’s the big one! After opening up the presents, make your way down for Makase’s Christmas brunch buffet with its several food stations, including a salad counter, cold cuts station, a live carving station for all of those festive meats, and a dessert corner. Of course, no Christmas is complete without Santa. In addition to the buffet, the brunch will also have a live Christmas carol performance, magic show, acoustic band performance, and a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus himself.

IDR950,000/IDR1,350,000 (depending on which free-flow drinks package you choose), and IDR475,000 for children under the age of 11.

Alternatively (or additionally!), for a more chic fine dining option, book a table at SugarSand’s Christmas dinner. The five-course Japanese set menu has been meticulously crafted by renowned Chef Syamsul Rizal, and includes delicacies such as a fresh sushi and sashimi platter, toro truffle tataki, and raspberry matcha opera cake. A kids’ menu is also available. IDR1,100,000/IDR1,600,000 (depending on whether you opt for the cocktail pairing).

New Year’s Eve

End 2023 how you intend to start 2024 — with good food and good people at Makase’s extravagant new year’s eve buffet dinner, which will feature upwards of a whopping 10 food stations that include both Indonesian specialties and international dishes. Once you’ve finished your meal, make your way over to the lush floral surroundings of Tree Bar (yes, there is a literal tree in the middle of the bar), and kick back with a drink as live acoustic bands and DJs serenade you into the new year.

IDR1,100,000/IDR1,950,000 (depending on which free-flow drinks package you choose), and IDR550,000 for children under the age of 11.

Over at SugarSand, the upscale New Year’s Eve five-course Japanese dinner includes gourmet delights such as fresh lobster and mouthwatering chawanmushi. A vegetarian menu is also available, making this a great option for a group with various dietary requirements. Guests wanting to bring their little ones can also request the kids’ menu. Oh, and this goes without saying, but make sure to stay for the beachfront countdown party.

IDR1,100,000/IDR1,600,000 (depending on whether you opt for the cocktail pairing).
