It’s never too late to find love.

An Indonesian woman in her late 40s married the love of her life, an Australian man in his 30s, and the video of their wedding that took place in Bali went viral after the woman’s cousin uploaded the happy occasion on TikTok.

The cousin, Lorra, told a local media news outlet that her cousin, Tika, 47, tied the knot with Shaun, 35, at Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest in Kuta on June 18. The wedding was especially wholesome for Tika’s family since she finally walked down the aisle as a late bloomer.

In the video, Lorra said that it was not exactly a smooth path for Tika and Shaun to take their love to each other to the next level, due to the fact that the bride’s family initially rejected the interracial relationship. The family, Lorra said, would sooner have Tika marry a local man instead, even though Tika had been dating Shaun for three years.

“Rejection from the woman’s family happened because [they are of] different faiths and also [the man] is a foreigner. The hope was for our sister to find someone who is not so far away,” Lorra said.

Shaun, according to Lorra, did not back down and relentlessly tried to convince Tika’s family to show how committed he is to make Tika happy – until finally they gave both of them their blessings.

“Their effort was not in vain. Happy new life, Sis. Hopefully you will be a happy family in this world and beyond until you reach heaven,” Lorra wrote on Tiktok.

The wholesome video has gained hundreds of thousands of views with many conveying their happiness for the newlyweds.
