American singer Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas (better known as Ashanti) is scheduled to hit the stage at the Ulu Cliffhouse in Uluwatu on Jan. 16, 2024, bringing her hits such as What’s Luv?, Foolish, and Only You.

Known for her sultry and swooning voice, the Grammy Award-winning singer first came to prominence in 2002 when she was discovered as a teenager and was later signed to Murder Inc. Records.

That same year, she was featured on rapper Fat Joe’s What’s Luv? and Murder Inc. Records’ flagship act Ja Rule’s Always On Time. She quickly gained recognition and released her eponymous album that same year. The album went triple platinum later and it got her eight Billboard Music Award and a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

Ashanti’s other chart-topping tracks include Rain on Me, and Rock Wit U (Awww Baby). She also contributed her songwriting skills and background vocals to Jennifer Lopez’s Ain’t It Funny (Murder Remix), a track that soared to the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In addition to her thriving music career, she explored the realm of acting, gracing films like Coach Carter and John Tucker Must Die.

“Her live performances are known for their high energy, powerful vocals, and a mix of her iconic R&B and hip-hop hits. She engages with her audience, creating a vibrant atmosphere that fans love,” said Ulu Cliffhouse’s representative.
“The show often features a combination of her classic tracks and newer material, ensuring an exciting and nostalgic experience for fans of all ages.”
