We’ve all heard the “work from Bali” buzz at this point, haven’t we?

At the official level, the idea was first encouraged by Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno, who himself started working alternately between Bali and Jakarta back in January. In recent weeks, officials are getting more serious about turning it into a real tourism-boosting program, with a plan in the works potentially requiring civil servants from seven ministries — and more recently state-owned enterprises — to participate.

Maybe you already have a friend or two who have hopped on this little trend of working from Bali, which may well be a solution for the province’s deeply battered economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We just hope that our elected officials know what they’re doing when they say people should consider this an option.

Businesses certainly aren’t slow to pick up on this trend, and here we’ve compiled a list of hotels offering some attractive Work From Bali packages, just in case you’re among those considering the option. You may want to check this space from time to time, as we will update the list if we come across other great offers!

Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian

Locations, locations, locations! Fairfield is a great option for those of you looking to visit your favorite spots in hip areas like Kuta and Seminyak, as it’s basically located right between the two. The hotel’s current Work From Bali offer starts at IDR420,000 all-in for one room per night if you’re staying for a week, and if you’re thinking of staying for a whole month that rate goes down to IDR400,000 all-in. These prices include daily breakfast for two people, two pieces of laundry per day and even a daily drop-off to co-working spaces around Legian.

Swiss-Belinn Legian

Here’s another option for those of you looking for accommodation in Legian. Swiss-Belinn Legian offers three different options for long-term stays in their superior room, including its 7 nights package at IDR1,295,000, a 14 nights package at IDR2,240,000, and a 30 nights package at IDR4,000,000. The monthly price is pretty competitive and is as low as renting a room in higher-end boarding houses, but you get hotel hospitality and a pool and gym. For this one, the hotel says paying in advance is one of the terms and conditions for the deal.

My Eden Hotels in Kuta has a limited offer that only lasts until June 30, and is valid for only 10 rooms. So if this looks like your kind of hotel, you might want to pick up the phone real fast. My Eden offers two options, namely IDR1,200,000 for an all-in 7-day stay and IDR4,000,000 all-in for a 30-day stay, both in the hotel’s Eden rooms. You might get a free upgrade to pool-access rooms if they’re available, though prices are only for rooms and therefore do not include amenities.
