Attention, old-school hip hop fans: This Friday, The World Tour launch party kicks off with DJ Yella, the man behind the deck of legendary rap group N.W.A. Get the chance to rub shoulders with some of the world’s best surfers, as they’ll be joining for a Billabong top deck take over.

Friday, May 10 at The Lawn Canggu, from 6pm onwards. Free entry.

 

Bali International Indigenous Film Festival 2019

The second edition of Bali International Indigenous Film Festival aims to promote the conservation of indigenous culture through film. This year, the festival is bringing together 25 filmmakers from 14 different countries, including Indonesia, and celebrating over 40 indigenous films in its three-day stretch. Each ticket sale directly supports, protects and ultimately empowers the indigenous tribes and communities around the world. The festival will be held at Paradiso Ubud Theatre.

Friday-Sunday, May 10-12, at Paradiso Ubud Theatre with opening night on Friday at Njana Tilem Museum. Ticket starts from IDR300,000 (day pass) to IDR1,400,000 (VIP 3 day and night pass), available to purchase at venues and on the festival website.

 

Mrs. Sippy Presents: Mark Lower

French DJ and NuDisco producer Mark Lower, famous for his remix of The Boy is Mine, will be taking over the decks at Mrs Sippy this Saturday.

Saturday, May 11 at Mrs Sippy Bali from 10am onwards. IDR150,000 per person, available on the spot.

One Journey, Two Chefs, Three Hours of Delicious Edible Stories: Kalimantan Dinner

Leading Bali-based chefs, Will Meyrick of Sarong Group and Kevin Cherkas of Cuca Restaurant, have partnered for a special dinner to celebrate the best of Kalimantan cuisine. Guests can expect a jungle inspired soiree full of sensorial surprises including, among many more, the premiere of a short documentary depicting the chefs’ exciting journey and their behind-the-scenes kitchen sessions to jointly create the dishes for this event.

Saturday, May 11 at Som Chai by Will Meyrick, Seminyak from 7pm. IDR950,000++ per person including dinner and two first drinks, available to purchase on the spot or online via Som Chai’s website.

 

SVÁ Grand Opening

Join SVÁ on its opening party for an evening of Indonesian fusion food and the best of tribal house music, accompanied by a showcase of Indonesian designer DIMAS couture’s monochrome collection. The evening will unfold on their third floor lounge and bar, where the godfathers of tribal house music CHUS+CEBALLOS will be taking over after Ibiza DJ Alex Seda and China & Australia’s own Gloria Ansell get the night started with the proper beats.
