Bali’s own, The Hydrant, invited to perform in Las Vegas rockabilly festival

Bali may traditionally be the land of gamelan, but the island’s also got some pretty good rockabilly music on offer, thanks to the smoking hot local band The Hydrant.

But the band’s reach apparently extends beyond just the island, as the ganteng quartet reportedly got a personal invite to next year join the world’s biggest rockabilly gathering in the US, where the music genre was born, according to Tribun Bali.

From the first time “Rockabilly Weekend” festival Viva Las Vegas was held in 1998, The Hydrant will apparently be the first band from Indonesia to represent.

With the American festival far enough ahead of them, the band is apparently now busy preparing for a party to celebrate the release of their new album, Lokananta Riot. According to Tribun, the band will make this a fundraiser to help get them to the US.
