The best resort on the planet is in Bali, according to the Travel+Leisure World’s Best Awards for 2018.
T+L readers apparently really like the winner, the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan—yes, the one where the Obamas stayed last year during their family vacation.
The resort sits on the breathtaking Ayung River Valley, which can be accessed via a gram-worthy suspension bridge that stretches above the plan trees and rice paddies.
Though already on its 20th year, the 60-room property is kept in excellent condition, keeping things fresh with new experiences for its guests like cooking lessons in a bamboo structure designed by Elora Hardy and Sacred Nap relaxation treatments.
With a score of 98.22, the Ubud area luxury resort edged out two-time reigning champion Nihi Sumba Island with its score of 97.06, which then fell to spot number nine on the 2018 world best list (still not a bad place to be).
Rankings for T+L World’s Best lists determined by a survey that the magazine gives its readers. Hotels are rated on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.
Also in Bali making the top 100 list was the Mulia at spot number six.
And the Amandari Bali coming in 12th.
Along with the Alila Manggis at 93.
