The king of darkly hilarious deadpan, Jimmy Carr, is bringing his “Terribly Funny” tour to Indonesia – Bali and Jakarta, to be precise.
On Jan. 23, 2024, the Kasablanka Hall in South Jakarta will become ground zero for side-splitting chaos as Carr unleashes his signature brand of observational humor.
The very next day, Carr will be setting the IC Center in Bali ablaze with laughter..
Carr is known for his unique and distinctive style of comedy, which he delivers in his signature deadpan style. He has been praised for his cleverness and wit, and for his ability to make the audience laugh at topics some might describe as “off limits”.
“I’m thrilled to be bringing my show to Indonesia,” said Carr. “I’ve heard so many great things about [Jakarta] and its people, and I can’t wait to share my jokes with Indonesian audiences – and that’s all they are, jokes!”
Mo Sidik from Mad About Comedy Indonesia, the show’s promoter, shared his enthusiasm with Coconuts Bali.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Jimmy Carr to Indonesia for the first time. He is one of the most successful and respected comedians in the world, and we know that audiences are going to love his show,” he said.
Carr’s rise to comedic stardom reads like a blueprint for success. From his early days in 1997 to his current status as a multi-award-winning titan (think British Comedy Award for Best Stand-up Comedian, Royal Television Society Award for Entertainment Personality of the Year, and countless others), his trajectory is undeniable.
But Carr’s influence stretches far beyond stand-up. He regularly reigns over some of the UK’s most popular television shows, leaving chat show giants like Graham Norton and Alan Carr struggling to keep up with his wit. And let’s not forget his Netflix specials, Funny Business and His Dark Material, which proved his humor transcends borders and tickles funny bones across the globe.
