Popular online travel platform Agoda this year recognizes Bali as one of the most popular destinations for international visitors, as the magical island welcomes back sun-seekers from all over the world after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Agoda collected data on total travel bookings between May and August this year, and it turns out many holidaymakers have booked their trips to Bali after Indonesia relaxed travel restrictions and reinstated visa on arrival (VOA) entry.
Bali placed 7th amongst the top 15 tourist destinations this year, in front of Pattaya, Manila, Penang, Hong Kong, Busan, Osaka, Johor Bahru, and Taichung.
Bangkok tops the list followed by Jeju Island, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore.
The Island of Gods has also been ranked 7th among top summer destinations for tourists from Asia Pacific, in front of Pattaya, Penang, and Hong Kong.
Bangkok tops Agoda’s list for Asia Pacific travelers followed by Jeju Island and Kuala Lumpur. Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore are also listed above Bali.
Bali is also popular among European travelers as it placed 8th on their top 10 summer destinations, according to Agoda. Pattaya and Prague are both placed behind Bali in the top 10, while London tops this list followed by Bangkok, Paris, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome, and Berlin.
