Sure, ham’s not exactly the most popular meat in a predominantly Muslim country, but in Bali, pork’s fair game—literally game meat in a photo of some Bali pork that’s going viral.
A man posted on Facebook pictures of his packaged pork which he seems to have bought in Bali and there appears to be something shiny that does not belong in your average pig meat.
What is it? Well it sure looks like a bullet and the man who posted the photo believes it to be a BB gun pellet or something of that sort.
Looks like the pig may have been shot by a toy gun before being slaughtered for Aroma cooked ham.
We’re used to questionable hygienic standards involving food in Indonesia because we happen to find stuff in our food that shouldn’t be there all the darn time, but a pellet that could be made of lead is a bit hard to stomach.
While this may not keep us away from one of our fave Bali specialties, babi guling (roast pig), let’s just say we’ll be inspecting any pork we meet a bit more closely from now on.
